The eight teams Offaly can draw in Round 2 of the Football Qualifiers

Following their impressive win over Antrim on Saturday, Offaly will be in the draw for Round 2 of the All Ireland Senior Football Qualifiers. The draw is on Morning Ireland on RTE Radio 1 at around 8.30am on Monday morning.

Offaly will be on one side of the draw with the rest of the Round 1 winners with the eight beaten provincial semi-finalists on the other side of the draw.

That means Offaly will draw one of the following teams: Carlow, Longford, Clare, Tipperary, Sligo, Leitrim, Monaghan, Down.

Of that list, Monaghan are the class of the field as they finished third in Division 1 of the league this year although they struggled and eventually lost to a very defensive Fermanagh side.

Of the rest, Clare and Tipperary finished in the top half of Division 2 while Down were relegated from the same Division. Down were hammered by 14 man Donegal today.

That is important as is Offaly draw a team from Division 1 or Division 2, they will have home advantage.

Sligo and Longford were both in Division 3 while Carlow and Leitrim were both in Division 4. Carlow gained promotion and will be in Division 3 next year.

In the other bowl with Offaly will be Kildare, Armagh, Waterford, Louth, Mayo, Tyrone and Cavan.
