All-Ireland-winning Offaly hurler savages county board on Twitter
Former Offaly hurler and All-Ireland winner Daithi Regan has heavily criticised Offaly County Board in a number of Twitter interactions this week.
The Birr clubman who won two All-Ireland titles with Offaly in the 1990s labelled the county board 'deplorable' in a series of tweets, suggesting, "they care not a jot about our hurlers or footballers, treat players as a commodity and shove money at outside managers to keep up appearances."
"The sooner there is a revolution in Offaly against a deplorable county board, we are doomed," he posted.

The multiple All-Ireland winner also dismissed calls for Offaly to be re-instated into a six-team Leinster hurling championship after their relegation last weekend.
He said, "we can't compete and we are operating at lesser level for years." "I am totally against a move to keep Offaly in Leinster championship," he commented. He does however believe the drop will affect attendances and buy-in from players going forward in Offaly.
I do subscribe to Offaly will not learn much from hurling in lesser competition, small crowds, lads may not be interested, however I am totally against a move to keep Offaly in Leinster championship, we can't compete and we are operating at lesser level for years

Unless Kerry pull off a shock to win the Joe McDonagh Cup, Offaly will be relegated to the second tier competition for 2019.
