Offaly had already secured their place in the quarter-finals ahead of today's game with Antrim in Birr which Offaly eventually lost thanks to a late goal from the visitors.
Kilkenny will come into the game off the back of three successive wins in Division 1A, their latest coming at the expense of Wexford on a scoreline of 0-22 to 0-19.
Offaly meanwhile will be hoping to bounce back from a 2-18 to 2-21 loss to Antrim in Birr today.
Antrim were quicker out of the blocks and led by 1-2 to 0-1 early in the game. Offaly got back into it thanks to a goal from Peter Geraghty and the sides were level four times in the first-half but Antrim edged ahead by a point at the break at 1-10 to 1-9.
Antrim built that lead to three points in the second-half but a goal from Shane Dooley, who came on as a sub, drew Offaly level midway through the half however Antrim managed to get back in front and led by two entering the final minutes.
Offaly did draw level with two late points from Dooley but an even later goal from Nigel Elliot snatched a dramatic win for Antrim.
The loss left Offaly third in the table with Limerick claiming top spot with a tremendous win away to Galway who finished second. Dublin claimed the last quarter-final spot with a comfortable win over Laois.
