"The Edenderry Municipal District of the county has seen an allocation of €484,706.00 euro which is almost half of the total allocation to the county and will certainly benefit the clubs that received funding from this years sports Capital grant allocations," Cllr Fitzpatrick said.

"I know there are some clubs that didn't receive funding from the 2017 sports grant allocations due to invalid or incomplete applications and I would urge them to seek help with their application for 2018 to ensure they are included for funding in the next round."

"The 2017 Sports Capital Funding has seen funding being allocated to a variety of clubs around the North Offaly area and I wish them all well with their projects going forward," Cllr Fitzpatrick concluded.
