Extraordinary Edenderry GAA project moves a step closer after €102,000 funding announcement
A state-of-the-art all-weather facility at Edenderry GAA has moved closer to a reality after the announcement of €102,000 in funding for the club, the largest amount given to any Offaly sports club.
The funding injection is part of the Sports Capital Grants announced by Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport.
Edenderry GAA has said that "today is a good news day" and that this €102,000 will go towards the next phase of their development.
Edenderry GAA continues to add pitches and facilities at their club grounds and newly acquired grounds on the Carrick Road.
This grant represents approximately 50% of the project costs and the club now plans to complete their new pitches in the Spring before putting renewed energies into making up the funding gap to get started with what they describe as a "badly need all-weather facility."
"Many thanks to the volunteers that prepared the application, the support of our local schools & all of the local representatives that backed our plans," Edenderry GAA stated.
