Offaly ease past Kildare as they prepare for All Ireland date

OFFALY warmed up for their All Ireland final with victory over Kildare in the Leinster B semi-final in Rathcoffey on Saturday last

OFFALY warmed up for their All Ireland final with victory over Kildare in the Leinster B semi-final in Rathcoffey on Saturday last

With the aid of the wind Offaly got off to a great start with an early Rachael Brennan goal and kept the pressure on Kildare all through the first half to lead by 2-7 to 1-1 at the midway point.

Offaly 4-10

Kildare 1-2

In the second half the Offaly backs played very well against the the wind conceding only one point with the forwards tacking on 2-3 to run out winners on a score line of 4-10 to 1-2 to set up a Leinster Final meeting with Laois in two weeks tim. For now though the focus will be on next weeks All Ireland final against Limerick

Fixtures: Saturday: Ireland U-16 B Final - Offaly v Limerick, Gaelic Grounds, Limerick, 1.30pm

Sunday: Leinster Senior Championship semi-final - Offaly v Dublin, 2.30pm, St Brendan’s Park

Sunday: U-8 and U-12 blitz in Kinnity on Saturday. All clubs asked to send teams for each grade this is a trial blitz with demonstration on the day as to how to run a blitz
