All Offaly's focus will now be on their league opener with Cavan in Tullamore on February 6 after they exited the O'Byrne Shield at the hands of Dublin on Saturday afternoon.
O'Byrne Cup Shield Semi-Final
In a game brought forward to the afternoon to avoid the possibility of the pitch freezing, the game was done and dusted by half-time as Dublin, thanks to a trio of goals, opened up a 13 point lead.
Mossy Quinn, Kevin McMenamon and Diarmuid Connolly all found the back of the net to send the Metropolitans through to the final where they will face the winners of Laois and Meath.
Tom Cribbin has used the O'Byrne Cup games to run the rule over his panel and the focus now will be on getting his players ready for an assault on the league.
