Feile fever rising

PREPARATIONS for Feile Peil na nOg which takes place in Offaly and Laois from June 22-24 are at an advanced stage.

Ahead of the festival itself which will involve 76 teams from all thirty two counties and 13 overseas teams, schools across the two counties are scheduled to receive visiting groups which will include GAA President Liam O’Neill and county players from Laois and Offaly.

The visits in Offaly will take place on May 16 and 17 with schools from Edenderry to Coolderry and all points in between included. A total of four groups will be on the road each day.

The official launch of the Feile Peil na nOg will then take place in the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel on Thursday, May 17 at 8pm.

The event kicks off prior to that when GAA President Liam O’Neill will be arriving, with county players from Laois and Offaly, to welcome the clubs and their players to the event.

At 7pm a Question and Answer Session will take place involving Mr O’Neill and the county players. Refreshments will also be served at 8pm.

All clubs who are participating in the Feile are welcome to attend along with four under-14 players in their club colours.

Clubs across Offaly know which counties they will be hosting and in the coming weeks they will be finding out which clubs they will welcome for the weekend.
