Running and volunteering milestones celebrated at popular Offaly parkrun

Autumn has well and truly arrived, and was evident at Mountlucas parkrun at the weekend where it was a dry but very cold morning.

Laura Pentony-McKeon completed her 100th parkrun. She has been working towards this milestone since she completed her first parkrun at Mountlucas parkrun in 2017.

There were also two significant volunteering milestones achieved at the weekend's event. Terry Wearen volunteered for the 10th time, while Martin Lawlor volunteered for the 50th time. Mountlucas parkrun is a free event, operated each week by volunteers, so the parkrun team are extremely grateful to Terry, Martin, and all those who regularly volunteer.

Speaking to Martin after the event, he said: "I get so much from participating in our weekly parkun and it's nice to be able to volunteer and give back so other can get a run in."

Mountlucas parkrun takes place at BnM Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp.

There's something for everyone at Mountlucas parkrun whether you want to walk, run, volunteer or just meet new people.
