Clara woman named on Irish rugby World Cup squad

AOIFE Dalton has been named on the 32 strong Irish squad for the forthcoming womens' World Cup.

The Clara woman made the cut when the squad was announced on Monday. A former member of Tullamore Rugby Club, she has made great progress in recent years, becoming established at the highest level in the country.

A centre and from a great Clara sporting family, Dalton plays for Old Belvedere and Leinster. The World Cup takes place in England and Ireland begin their campaign against Japan in Northampton on August 24.

They play Spain at the same venue a week later and complete their group games against New Zealand in Brighton on September 7.
