National Novice Cross Country

The National Novice Cross Country championships were run on a very tough course at Waterford Institute of Technology last Sunday with athletes tackling a very hilly course with heavy underfoot conditions. Nadine Donegan was the sole representative of the Harriers ladies team and acquitted herself very well, running strongly to finish 26th overall in a time of 16.55 for the 4000m race. The men raced over 6000m and Pauric Ennis led the squad home finishing 59th (21.57) in a very competitive field. Mark Donegan was next (114th ) in 22.55 followed by Conor Butler (124th) in 23.12; Anthony Harpur (145th) in 24.04; Darren Butler (170th) in 25.37 and Mark Harpur (182nd) in 28.00. The men’s team fought hard but finished outside the medals. Well done to all who competed in such a tough event.

Leinster Star Awards

Congratulations to Danielle Donegan and Aaron Mangan who won their respective Junior categories at this year’s Leinster Star Awards. A fantastic achievement for both of these talented young athletes. Tullamore Harriers were also delighted to have won the O’Hannelly Memorial trophy for best Senior Road and Cross Country club.
