Director General job advertised by the GAA
The GAA have officially advertised for the Director General position being made available by the imminent retirement of Paraic Duffy.
Duffy has held the position since 2008 but will stand aside in March, paving the way for a new leader of the Association. Duffy has been the man at the helm in key decisions for the GAA over the last decade, including the controversial Sky television deal and a number of championship structure shake-ups.
The position seeks a strong manager and leader with a clear vision and knowledge of the Association.
Among the responsibilities for the new Director General will be developing the vision and strategies of the Association, and implementing long and short-term plans; the overall implementation of the commitments contained in the Association’s National Strategic Plan and the delivery of the agreed budget of the Association.
The candidate must have a third-level business related qualification, with strong experience of financial management and strategic planning. They must also be an Irish speaker.
The salary is not disclosed but applications are now being accepted.
