Winter League Round 2
The second round of the Winter League was run off last Thursday evening. The 3000m race on the tartan track was won by Leonard Mooney who set a good example as captain of Team B! He clocked 9.42 with Padraig Berry taking second place in 9.45 and Darren Butler third in 10.01. Katy O’Keefe was fastest of the ladies running 10.47 after a great battle with Niamh Moore who was second in 10.48. Sarah Stephens was third in 12.17. The third and final leg will be a 5000m race on December 5th .

British & Irish Masters Cross Country
Four of our masters athletes won selection to the Irish team for the British and Irish Masters Cross Country on foot of their performances at the AAI Autumn Open Cross Country contest earlier in the season. The international cross country event which took place in Derry this year saw Johnny Feery win a gold medal with his O60 team; Christy Donegan won a bronze medal with the O55 team; as did John Todd with his O65 team and Jim Langan O75 team were fourth. Congratulations to all four men on their performances in the Irish team singlet.
Harriers were represented at the British and Irish Masters XC by Jim Langan, Christy Donegan, Johnny Feery and John Todd who were selected for the Irish team
There was a big contingent from Harriers in action at the charity Gingerbread Run last Sunday which featured a 10k and Half Marathon road race. Richie Faulkner had a great run in the 10k event posting a pb of 36.23 to finish second. In the Half Marathon, Daragh Rigney led the Harriers crew and achieved a pb of 1.24.02. Well done to you all.

IUAA Road Relays
There were four members of the club in action at the Irish Universities Championships at NUI Maynooth last Saturday. In the women’s event, new club member Katy O’Keefe was third fastest in the first leg of her relay running 6.07 and helping her UL team to a gold medal for the second year in a row. Eileen Rafter was on the last leg for Trinity College Dublin B team who finished thirteenth with an impressive run of 5.58.
In the men’s event Matthew Molloy was a member of Dublin City University D team which finished thirteenth with Matthew running the first leg in 5.49. Conor Butler ran for Carlow IT posting a time of 11.48 on the second leg.

Access to Harriers Facilities
Please note that use of the club’s facilities, including the tarmac track, is restricted to members of the club. Walkers are not permitted on the track during training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm-8pm.
