Tullamore Harriers Report – 20th February 2017

Harriers Spring Mile

The Spring Mile race was revived last Sunday morning with a small group from the club racing the classic distance on a route which started near the entrance to the business park on Burlington Road and ended near the entrance to the Sragh Business Park. This race had been a long-standing favourite for its fast course. Padraig Berry won in 4.48 and Tara McKinney was fastest of the girls, running 5.56. Well done to all who took part.

National Senior Indoor Championships

Congratulations to Jordan Hoang who won a fantastic silver medal for the Triple Jump at the National Senior Indoor championships last weekend with a best jump of 14.79. Paddy Heffernan ran well to finish 4 th in the final of 60m hurdles in a time of 8.40.

Sean Lowry Memorial 5k

Dave Murray retained his title as winner of the Sean Lowry Memorial 5k in Birr last Sunday, running a super time of 16.50.


Membership for 2017 is now due and should be paid by the end of January. Membership runs for the calendar year and forms are available from the club house.

Access to Harriers Facilities

Please note that use of the club’s facilities, including the tarmac track, is restricted to members of the club. Walkers are not permitted on the track during training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm-8pm.
