Basil Cronin running the Waterford Half Marathon

Waterford Half Marathon

Well done to Basil Cronin and Darragh Rigney who ran the Waterford Half Marathon last weekend with both men achieving great times; Basil ran 1.27.20 and Darragh ran 1.28.10.

Clonakilty Half Marathon

Barbara O’Connell was also in action last weekend – she completed the very tough Clonakilty Half Marathon. Well done Barbara.

Offaly Sports Award for John Cronin  

Club Chairman John Cronin who was honoured for his invaluable contribution to athletics at the Offaly Sports Awards of the Decade last Saturday night.  John was presented with the award for Lifetime Contribution to Sport -  a very well deserved accolade.  Congratulations John from all at Harriers.

International Running Challenge

Competing at the annual International Running Challenge in Lanzarote has become something of tradition for Harriers with a group from the club taking part for the past several years. This year the Harriers team consisted of Pauline Curley, Mag Grennan, Nita McLoughlin, John Donegan, Mark Donegan, Jason Donegan, Darren Butler, Adrian Curley and Kieran O’Driscoll.  The challenge is a four-day event which runners completing a 10k road race, 13k ridge run, 5k beach run and a half marathon over four consecutive days. The team from Harriers put in some excellent performances with Pauline Curley winning the overall lady’s award, Mark Donegan won his age group, his father John Donegan was 2nd in the o50 age group and Mags Grennan was 3rd age group winner. Well done to all who represented the club.

Access to Harriers Facilities

Please note that use of the club’s facilities, including the tarmac track, is restricted to members of the club.  Walkers are not permitted on the track during training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm-8pm.
