Winter League – Round 2
Padraig Berry strengthened his position as leader of the Winter League with a clear win at last Thursday’s second-round race, a 5000m on the tarmac track. His winning time was 16.46.
Darren Butler put in a very strong run to finish second in 17.36 with Christy Donegan third in 17.42.
Nadine Donegan won the women’s race in 19.14 with Nita McLoughlin second in 19.40 and Maeve Larkin third in 20.06. It is still all to play for in terms of the team win which will be decided at the third and final round which will be a 3k on Tuesday, December 6.

Well done to Richie Faulkner who was 12th overall and 1st o40 in the Clane 10k last Saturday in a time of 37.02.
The charity Gingerbread Run in Portarlington last Sunday was well attended with good numbers in both the 10k and half-marathon races. There were athletes from Harriers in both; in the 10k event, Gerry Dunican ran 43.36, Siobhan Stewart ran 50.13, Rodge Larkin ran 55.47 and Sandra Busteed ran 56.52. In the half-marathon, John Joe Galvin finished in 1.28.42, Paul Bracken ran 1.29.40, Sinead Rigney ran 1.36.57, Martina Costello ran 1.42.49 and Ciara Bracken ran 1.58.18. Well done to all.
John Todd ran the BHAA Irish Life 6k in Santry Demense last Sunday in a time of 25.40 finishing second in this o65 age group. Well done John.
Access to Harriers Facilities
Please note that use of the club’s facilities, including the tarmac track, is restricted to members of the club. Walkers are not permitted on the track during training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm-8pm.
