Shane Lowry well placed after opening round in Dubai

Offaly's Shane Lowry remains in the top 20 DP World Tour Championship in Dubai after shooting a three under par 69 in his third round at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

He had five birdies and two bogeys in his round including a run of three birdies in a row on the 6th, 7th and 8th.

Lowry is in a tie for 18th on six under after three rounds at the European Tour's season finale.

Victor Dubuisson leads the field on -13 after an impressive eight under par 64 which included an eagle and four birdies in his last five holes.

Nicolas Colsaerts, Tyrrell Hatton and Matthew Fitzpatrick are a shot behind the leader after they both shot six under par rounds.

Rory McIlroy dropped a shot on the last to finish with a round of four under par which moves him up to -5 for the tournament, a shot behind Shane Lowry.

Padraig Harrington shot a second consecutive round of 71 to move to -2 after three rounds.
