OFFALY’S Fran Meehan and her partner Catherine Walsh from Swords won their second medal of the Paralympics games with a superb performance in the Women’s Individual Time Trial B.

After their superb silver medal in the Pursuit in the velodrome earlier in the games, the pair took to the road at Brands Hatch and finished in third place in a time of 35:29.56.

The World bronze medalists in the event focussed mainly on the Pursuit for the Paralympics but they showed that they are also a force to be reckoned with on the road.

Fran is the sighted pilot of the team which has developed into a dynamic unit that now have Paralympic Silver and Bronze medals to add to their collection of titles including gold at February’s World Track Championships in Los Angeles.
