It’s raining medals at Community Games Athletics Finals

HUNDREDS of young Offaly athletes were not deterred by the very inclement weather conditions which prevailed at Tullamore Harries on Sunday last as the 37th annual Offaly Community Games County Track and Field Finals took place.

HUNDREDS of young Offaly athletes were not deterred by the very inclement weather conditions which prevailed at Tullamore Harries on Sunday last as the 37th annual Offaly Community Games County Track and Field Finals took place.

On an occasion that saw more areas than ever competing, Rhode’s Megan Addie read the Community Games Pledge as gaeilge, while Brosna’s Fiona Kelly did the honours through English. Cara Todd from Daingean lit the tourch , at which point long serving Offaly stalwart and National General Secretary of HSE Community Games Jude Feehan then declared the games officially opened.
