TULLAMORE: THE severe winter weather over the past week has resulted in all activities in the Golf Club being cancelled. As the course has been covered with a blanket of snow, it was not possible to play any golf for a number of days.

It is hoped that with the prospect of improving weather conditions that it will be possible to go ahead with Turkey Sunday next December 12. This competition will be played over the two 9s with the higher handicappers playing the front 9 and the lower handicappers playing the back 9 with 2 categories on each 9.

The requirement to have entered for three turkey competitions is not now going to be implemented due to the weather making it impossible to play golf last week and again for much of this week.

Our Lady Captain Pamela represented the club superbly at every level throughout the year. She thanked her committee, secretary Marie Fox, and all the full time staff of Tullamore Golf Club.

Having climbed the ranks on this years golf club list, a special thanks was issued to Mr Mark Murphy and his grounds staff, for the superb condition of our Parkland course.

A special thanks was made to all the team selectors for the year, with the hope that members continue to make themselves available for interclub teams.

Pamela welcomed in the new Lady Captain for 2011, Miriam Hogan, presenting the Captains badge to Miriam, and wishing her all the best for her year as Captain. We wish Pamela well, and hope that she enjoys a great rest after a very busy year she has given to Tullamore Ladies Golf.
