Scoil Mhuire 5k Fun Run
Scoil Mhuire hosted a 5k fun run/walk to raise funds for the school on the evening of Wednesday 18th last. The race was won by Catch Grennan, who led the race from the start, in 16.52. Second was Richie Galvin in 17.14 with David Brophy taking third place in 17.18. The women’s race was won by Michelle Mullaney in 19.39 with Nita McLoughlin second in 21.08 and Jennifer Burke third in 22.39. .
An Riocht 5k
Jim Langan travelled to Castleisland, Co. Kerry last Friday for the An Riocht AC 5k race where he took first place in the o70 age group in 24.27. Jim finished 57th overall in a field of 178 runners.
Airtricity Dublin Race Series
The final instalment of the Dublin Race Series took place in the Phoenix Park last weekend with a Half Marathon race. The Series is aimed at those preparing to take on the challenge of the Dublin City Marathon in October. Andy O’Grady was in action at the event, running 1.50.31 for the 13.1 mile course.
