BANAGHER author Carol Grogan will officially launch 'The Shadow That Walks Beside Me' on September 20th, following availability from September 15th. The powerful new memoir offers an honest and deeply personal account of living with a de novo diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer.

In 'The Shadow That Walks Beside Me', Carol Grogan recounts the life-changing moment she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, the treatment she received, the physical and emotional side effects she endured, and the challenge of coming to terms with a diagnosis that changed her future forever.

Written with honesty, courage and compassion, the memoir explores not only the realities of living with cancer but also the resilience required to continue living a meaningful life in the face of uncertainty. By sharing her experiences, Carol hopes to raise awareness of metastatic breast cancer and provide comfort and encouragement to patients, families and caregivers.

Speaking about the book, Carol said: “I wanted to tell the truth about what it is like to live with metastatic breast cancer. The book is about fear, hope, treatment, loss, strength and learning to keep moving forward when life takes an unexpected turn. If it helps even one person feel less alone, then sharing my story will have been worthwhile.”

As a resident of Banagher, Co Offaly, Carol is proud to share her story with communities across the midlands. She hopes the book will encourage greater understanding of the realities faced by those living with advanced cancer while also highlighting the importance of hope, support and resilience.

'The Shadow That Walks Beside Me' by Carol Grogan will be officially launched on September 20th.
