The Killina Secondary School camogie team.
A GREAT adventure for the Killina Secondary School senior camogie team came to an end when they were beaten in the All-Ireland semi-final at the weekend by a very strong team from Mercy, Roscommon.
Killina played against a strong wind and driving rain in the first half, battled ferociously to keep the Mercy team out and at half time the score was Mercy Roscommon 0-6 Killina 0-1.
The Connacht champions played excellently in the second half and 2 early goals left the Killina girls with an uphill task. All of the players battled to the very end but its Mercy Roscommon who head for the All Ireland final on a score of 2-7 to 0-1.
A huge thank you to this group of girls who have really put Killina camogie on the map this year. They have given everything in every match this year and delivered that unforgettable last quarter to win the schools first Leinster camogie title. A special mention to the 10 leaving cert girls who played their last camogie match for the school in the semi-final and have been a pleasure to work with over the years.
