ROWING: Offaly Rowing Club's first outing of 2023 a notable success

OFFALY Rowing Club's first outing of 2023 was to the  Irish Indoor Rowing Championships held at University of Limerick on Saturday, February 5 last.
Both junior and senior athletes travelled to the event, with some notable successes.
Melanie Kelly continued her run of form at the Indoor Championships, finishing in a strong second place in womens 27-33 1000m and third in the lightweight open 2000m.
J18 Roisin Byrne finished second in the 1000m event, and achieved a top ten place in the 2000m event.
The TY team of Ben Ward, JJ Finlay, Roisin  Byrne and Aisling Walsh came second in the Relay event.
Offaly Rowing Club offers trial membership for those wishing to try out the sport.
