Manager at second ALDI Tullamore ''excited and grateful'' for the opportunity

AS the opening of the new ALDI store in Tullamore approaches, Store Manager Yasmin Rourke says ''It is a great opportunity to take on the new Tullamore store. The experience of opening a new store, building a new team and creating a local customer base is something I am really excited about and grateful to have the opportunity to do.''

Yasmin is originally from Headford, Co. Galway but now lives in Athlone, with her five-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier called Jessie which she rescued during the pandemic in 2021.''She quickly became the highlight of my day! I also recently got married in September of this year in County Offaly,'' says Yasmin.

''Since I started my career in ALDI nearly ten years ago, I have worked in a number of stores. I started as a Store Assistant in Headford Road, County Galway and then spent time at a number of ALDI stores including Loughrea, Athlone, Roscommon, Kinnegad and Ballyfermot, and now onto the new Tullamore store.''

Yasmin worked as a Store Assistant until 2019 when she was promoted to Deputy Store Manager. Two years later she became Assistant Store Manager in the Kinnegad store before eventually moving to Ballyfermot as Acting Store Manager.

''ALDI provided training for me at the Kinnegad and Ballyfermot stores which was really beneficial when it came to progressing my career.''

When she is not busy working in ALDI Yasmin enjoys cooking, travelling, and listening to music. ''I find that working at ALDI allows me to maintain a good work-life balance, so I’m able to pursue these hobbies in my free time.''

ALDI’s new store in Tullamore, will create 30 permanent jobs and represents an investment of over €9.8 million in the area.The store will officially be opened by the local team, led by Yasmin on November 28.This will be ALDI’s 163rd store in Ireland and the second store in Tullamore.
