SURPRISE: Singing legend Daniel O'Donnell drops by to visit Ireland's oldest woman in Offaly

AN Offaly woman who is Ireland’s oldest person received a welcome surprise visitor over the weekend.
Singing legend Daniel O'Donnell dropped in to see Eileen Hynes at her home near Coolderry.

In a Facebook post Daniel said: "I dropped by to see Nell Hynes Co Offaly. Nell is the oldest person in Ireland at 109yrs old. Such a pleasure to meet her."

Eileen was joined by members of her family for her birthday at her home last December. The gathering included her cousin Fr Michael Enright who travelled up from Waterford for the occasion. The remarkable Eileen said she was looking forward to her 110th birthday.
Eileen is the mother of ten children, twenty seven grandchildren, fifty five great-grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren.
