Relay For Life Offaly has played a huge part in raising over €4.4million for cancer patients in Ireland.

Relay For Life first began in Ireland in 2009, and since then communities across the country, including Offaly have raised over €4.4m between them for the Irish Cancer Society.

Pictured celebrating the milestone at the Relay For Life Summit in Offaly were Geraldine Norman, Barbara Hanan, Sharon Cooney, Lisa O’Reilly, Bridget Sutton Mellon, Tom Hynes, Cathal Norman and Chloe Hynes from Relay for Life Offaly with Mary Quinn, Irish Cancer Society.

Relay For Life is a 24 hour community event that celebrates the lives of cancer survivors, remembers those lost to the disease and encourages people to fight back by raising awareness of cancer and funding vital research and support services of the Irish Cancer Society. For more information on Relay For Life events in Ireland, or to start one in your community, see www.cancer.ie/relayforlife
