Fionnuala Doyle passed away after a short illness, and the club has said her presence will be greatly missed.

"Edenderry GAA were saddened to hear that Fionnuala Doyle had passed away. Fionnuala was one of the founding members of the Ladies GAA club in Edenderry, and she coached for many years also within the club," they wrote.

"Fionnuala loved the GAA and was a great ambassador for the ladies GAA not just in Edenderry, but also within Offaly."

Fionnuala was a Primary school teacher by profession and was very popular with both students and parents. She had retired a couple of years ago after teaching in Edenderry and Croghan during her career.

"Fionnuala will be missed by all within the club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam."
