Edenderry ratepayers to enjoy reduction in 2018

Edenderry councillor Noel Cribbin has welcomed news that "hard pressed ratepayers" in Edenderry will enjoy a reduction in payments this year.

"The local rates collector for Offaly County Council confirmed to me that many ratepayers in Edenderry will see a reduction in their rates bill for this year," Cllr Cribbin said.

"This comes after a Rates Evaluation was carried out in 2017 and a reduction in the multiplier by Offaly County Council," he added.

"I am delighted that our ratepayers are getting some reduction in the costs and together with the Switch to LED should help with cash flow and costs for 2018," says Cllr Cribbin.

Noel went on to say that he has had a huge reaction to the Bord na Mona initiative inviting business people to switch to LED bulbs to reduce lighting costs by up to 70% in their premises.

"In the last week I have called to just short of 100 businesses here in Edenderry to bring them the good news of the switch to LED. All the business people I called to were delighted with this initiative and I thank BNM again for taking up my representations and including Edenderry as only the second town to have this project in their town," he added.
