The latest Irish Nurses and Midwives Association (INMO) Trolley Watch figures claim that 22 patients are waiting on trolleys at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore. The figures released today show that a total of 29 people are waiting for a proper bed at the hospital, the highest number recorded at any of the three Midlands hospitals.
18 patients are waiting on trolleys in Portlaoise Hospital, according to the figures. Across the border in Westmeath, 13 patients are awaiting beds on trolleys in Mullingar.
The highest individual numbers were recorded in University Hospital Waterford where 25 people are waiting on hospital trolleys for a bed.
Nationally, according to the INMO figures, 306 patients are waiting on a trolley for a hospital bed.
