Man killed in Offaly road accident named

The man killed in a crash in between the Blue Ball and Kilcormac last night has been named as Philip Hyland.

Hedied when his car left the road and crashed into a tree on the at Derrydolney, Kilcormac at 11:15 last night.

Mr Hyland was the sole occupant of the car. Originally from Banagher, he was living in Tullamore.

The section of the road was closed for a forensic examination but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who may have travelled the N52 close to Kilcormac on Sunday, February 12 between 10.45pm and 11.30pm, is asked to contact them at Tullamore Garda Station on 057 9327600, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
