A planning application has been lodged with Offaly County Council looking for permission to build 82 residential units.

The development will be situated on lands at Arden to the south of Eiscir Meadows and east of the Educate Together School off Collins Lane.

The 82 residential units would consist of 66 houses. Six of those units will be 2-storey 2-bed terraced / end of terrace / semi-detached. Another 20 will be 2-storey 3-bed terraced/end of terrace while 28 will be 2-storey 3-bed semi-detached. The plan also envision building two be 2-storey 3 bed detached, ten no. 3-storey 4-bed semi-detached and eight 3-bed duplexes over 8 no. 2-bed ground floor apartments.

There will be 167 car parking spaces, 105 on street and 62 off street, with access onto Collins Lane via the existing link road. There will also be road and pedestrian connections to the future development lands which will have road and pedestrian access to the Arden Road.

The application was submitted by Lystonvale Limited and a decision is due by January 14.
