Proposals sought for Tullamore Street Enhancement Project

Proposals sought for Tullamore Street Enhancement Project

Offaly County Council and the Tullamore Municipal District are seeking your views on proposals for works for the enhancement of Columcille Street, O’Connor Square and High Street, to include a pedestrian bridge from Millennium Square.

After extensive consultation in 2015, funding was sought and received this year. The project is receiving 50% funding from the European Regional Development Fund.

These draft proposals with options have been created by the design team and this is your opportunity to view and comment on those options. Works proposed in these areas include new paving, lighting, street furniture, planting, new layout of public areas including wider footpaths and a new civic space within O’Connor Square. As part of the project it is proposed to place the overhead wires in the centre of town underground.

Details of the proposals and options are also available at the planning counter in Aras an Chontae, in the Tullamore Library and in the Tullamore Municipal Offices.

Comments and suggestions on the proposals and options for Columcille Street, O’Connor Square and High Street are welcome to  or in writing to: TSEP, Forward Planning, OCC, Charleville road, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
