Countdown underway for Yvonne Fuchs Memorial Golf Classic

The countdown is underway for the Yvonne Fuchs Memorial Golf Classic on the June Bank Holiday Monday at Esker Hills Golf Club.

Yvonne Fuchs, a native of Tullamore, died last December an d the event is organised by her father, Peter to raise funds for her favourite charity, the Oesophageal Cancer Fund.

In keeping with her spirit it will be an action-packed day with plenty to attract golfers, onlookers and supporters.

Peter is a member of Esker Hills Golf Club and golfers throughout the country have been invited to join club members for what promises to be a very special day.

The first prize is green fees for the winning team of four at the K Club, sponsored by Bank of Ireland. The runner-up prizes include green fees for Tullamore Golf Club, Mullingar Golf Club, New Forest Golf Club, Moate Golf Club and Castle Barna Golf Club. There will also be prizes for nearest pin and longest drive. The Fuchs family are grateful for the generosity of all who are contributing to the event.

Prizes will be presented at a social on Monday evening. There will be live entertainment and a raffle for some more stunning prizes, including an Irish football jersey signed by the Euro 2016 football squad.

At the 12th tee box there will be complementary burgers for all golfers.
