Gardaí have confirmed that two juvenile males were arrested yesterday as part of the investigation into the murder of Anastasia Kriegel. The two remain in custody and they are being held at two separate Dublin Garda Stations under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The body 14 year old Ana was found in a derelict buiding near Lucan village on Thursday, April 17. She had been reported missing from her home the previous Monday, and was last seen alive in St Catherine’s Park, between Lucan and Leixlip.

Post-mortem results concluded that the schoolgirl died of blunt force trauma to the head. Tributes were paid to her last week by her school, which has provided support services to her fellow students in the aftermath of the incident which has shocked the community in North Kildare.
