Tullamore tri-athletes complete Sea 2 Summit adventure race

On November, Saturday 12, two members of Tullamore Triathlon Club were among the 558 competitors to take on the Sea 2 Summit adventure race in Westport Co. Mayo.

This challenging adventure race is set on a gruelling course consisting of a 4k run, 8k cycle, 5k run up and down Croagh Patrick followed by a 35k mountain cycle and finishing with a 4k run.

Matthew O'Byrne completed the course in a time of 3.31.26, finishing in 53rd place with splits of 17.07 (run), 20.02 (cycle), 1.10.02 (run 2), 1.21.40 (cycle 2) and 22.34 (run 3).

He was followed soon after by Shane Carroll, who finished in 69th position and in 3.37.10 with splits of 17.27 (run), 20.12 (cycle), 1.17.31 (run 2), 1.22.30 (cycle 2) and 19.29 (run 3). The club extended congradulations to Matthew and Shane.
