People have flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts on the 'despicable' price of water and crisps at one major GAA stadium.

Kilkenny senior hurlers played Wexford in the final round fixture of the Leinster championship on Sunday, May 26 in Nowlan Park, where The Cats came out on top.

While many discussed the crunch match, others shared their thoughts on the price of the food and drink on offer, which saw one person who attended the game pay €8 for two bottles of water and a packet of taytos.

Many scolded the person, saying: "You paid for it. You shouldn’t have", "Would have told them to keep it! The price will never come down if people keep over paying!" and "Pays for it, then whines about it".

Others offered comparison prices at other GAA matches around the country: "I got a coke and tayto at Semple Stadium for €4" and another said "Bargain! In Thurles on a roasting Sunday, they were charging €5 for a bottle of water".

Some people sympathised with the match-goer, saying: "My advice is bring a hot flask and couple of sandwiches. From an experience GAA supporter" and "A joke... that is robbery".

The post racked up over 124.6k views on X.
