According to Motorstats, the official statistics of the Irish Motor Industry, the Nissan Qashqai is the best selling car in Ireland so far in 2018 with 2,965 sold from January to the end of April.

The Hyundai Tuscon is the second best selling car with 2,818 units sold. 

The Volkswagen Golf came in third followed by the Ford Focus and the Skoda Octavia. Rounding out the top ten are the Kia Sportage, the Volkswagen Tiguan, the Ford Fiesta, the Toyota Yaris and the Toyota C-HR.

Volkswagen is the best selling make with close to 11% of market share. Hyundai is the second most popular make followed in the top five by Toyota, Ford and Nissan. 

Skoda, Kia, Renault, Peugeot and Audi round out the top 10. 

The figures also show that Tesla have sold 66 cars, Porsche 43 and Bentley 2.

So far in 2018, 79,889 new cars have been sold in Ireland.
