Offaly County Council will commence operations on Priority 2 and Priority 3 roads in the county which are currently impassable at first light tomorrow morning.
In a statement this evening, the council said its focus today has been on the ploughing of the Priority 1 routes.
The council's statement says, "We have made very good progress this afternoon in that most of the Priority 1 network is ploughed. Again to reiterate whilst these routes may be passable, they are only passable with extreme caution and with temperatures set to plummet and more snow forecast overnight, this can change at very short notice. Advice remains not to travel unless in a medical emergency."
