Met Eireann Weather Warning still in effect for Ireland today

Another weather warning has been issued

The Snow and Ice Weather Warning issued by Met Eireann yesterday remains in effect today. The Warning is in place until 8pm tonight.

Parts of the Midlands endured blizzard like conditions yesterday with Portlaoise being covered in snow in less than 15 minutes after one particularly heavy snowfall during the afternoon.

Met Eireann is forecasting a blustery day with widespread showers of rain, hail or sleet with a risk of thunder. Maximum temperatures will range from 4 to 8 degrees.

Tonight will be will windy with further showers of rain or sleet. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees.

Tomorrow is forecast to be a dry but cold day with lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees which will lead to icy patches in places.
