Offaly road re-opens after been closed due to flooding

It was closed on Wednesday

Offaly County Council have announced the re-opening of the Regional Road R421-11 between Clareen – Kinnitty this afternoon.

The road was closed on Wednesday amid heavy flooding after heavy rain on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. A number of other routes in the area had also been affected.

Elsewhere, Portarlington is still dealing with its own flooding situation after part of the River Barrow burst its banks this morning, November 24.

The Bog Road, Botley Lane and part of Patrick Street have been closed in the town since early this morning.
