Offaly looks set to experience some persistent rain in the coming hours, resulting in dangerous driving conditions around the county.
Today will end with some light drizzle but a persistent spell of rain will move in overnight, bringing with it cool temperatures of between 6 and 6 degrees.
The overnight rain will clear away in the mid-morning, opening up Thursday into a bright and somewhat pleasant day. Temperature will struggle to tick over 10 or 11 degree in moderate west to northwest winds.
With the rain over night, caution is advised on the roads, which may become slippery with some sitting surface water. Motorists are urged to reduce speed and increase braking distances in wet conditions.
