The Erkina Solar Cluster, which includes Erkina, Sheehy's, and Monaincha solar farms, was discussed at a well attended community forum.
The Erkina Solar Project Community Workshop took place on Tuesday evening in Knock School Hall, drawing a large and enthusiastic attendance from Roscrea, Knock, and the surrounding areas.
Despite the cold and wet November weather, community spirit was evident as local groups and residents came together to share their views and priorities.
The workshop introduced the forthcoming Erkina Solar Project Community Benefit Fund, which will provide much-needed support to local community groups, voluntary organisations, and social enterprises.
Attendees contributed thoughtful insights on how the fund can best serve the area, highlighting a wide range of local needs and ambitions.
Speaking after the event, Danny from the M-CO team said: “It was a very enjoyable evening spent with the local community.

“The turnout was fantastic, and it was extremely encouraging to hear directly from groups about the valuable work they do and how the Community Benefit Fund can support them. We are very grateful to all who participated.”
Next steps will include reviewing the feedback gathered at the workshop and preparing further engagement as the fund moves toward launch.
