RATHCABBIN has seen big improvements in recent years, Cllr Michael O'Meara told the recent Nenagh MD meeting.
“About a million Euros has been spent on the village over the last few years,” he stated, “on stormwater improvements, footpaths and roads. The village is looking very well.
“There's also a great Tidy Towns group in the village. They did very well in this year's Tidy Towns competition, enjoying a big increase in their overall mark, an increase of 21 marks and winning an Endeavour Award.
"I would guess that no other area in Tipperary enjoyed such a big increase. Well done to everyone in Rathcabbin Tidy Towns,” Cllr O'Meara said
26 Towns & Villages in the Nenagh Municipal District entered the SuperValu Tidy Towns Competition in 2024. All achieved an increase in marks from the previous years ranging from +6 to +21.
Terryglass were the County winners for North Tipperary and achieved 376 marks (silver medal).
Barry Murphy, Senior Executive Engineer, pointed out that the road surface in Rathcabbin is now “top quality. It will last 20 years. The various works have transformed the village."
