WEATHER FORECAST: 'Growing confidence' that sun will shine in Ireland on St Patrick's Day

Met Eireann says there is 'growing confidence' that sun will shine in Ireland on St Patrick's Day.

While there is a wet and windy weekend on the way with a Weather Warning in place for a large part of Ireland, Met Eireann is forecasting that the weather will change just in time for St Patrick's Day. 

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland, Wednesday looks like another quite wet day in the west but there is growing confidence that high pressure will bring, mild, dry and sunny conditions for St. Patricks Day and the Bank Holiday on Friday. Met Eireann does add that the nights will be cold and frosty.
