Met Eireann gives update on possible snow this week in latest weather forecast for Ireland

Met Eireann has given an update on whether it will snow this week in Ireland in its latest weather forecast issued this morning. 

Over the weekend, the Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland was forecasting snow on Thursday and Friday along with a noticeable drop in temperatures. The forecast stated that there would be a noticeable drop in temperatures with the chance of some showers of sleet and snow on to western coasts on Thursday night. It added that there would be showery outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow for a time on Friday.

However in its latest weather forecast for Ireland issued this morning, Met Eireann is now saying that while temperatures will drop close to freezing on Thursday night, the showers will feed in from the northwest are likely to be of hail or sleet, with snow possible on mountains in Ulster. Moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds.

The latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Friday states that the weather will be cold and breezy with showers and bright or sunny intervals. There will be some hail or sleet showers in the morning, mainly in Ulster. Showers will ease later in the day as westerly winds ease. Highs of 5 to 8 degrees.
