Athlone Agri Event

Join us at ATHLONE AGRI SHOW 2018 on SUNDAY 24th JUNE 2018 at a NEW Venue in Bealin, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.  Lots to see. Horse-jumping, Cattle and Sheep showing competitions, Dog show, FOOD Village and Cookery,  Entertainment, Pets Corner, VINTAGE vehicles and MORE. Carers Week 2018 - Wellness Event for Carers

Chair Yoga (gentle & for all) & Relaxation Techniques

WHAT Yoga Instructor, Ana Alves Smyth, nOva, will guide Participants in this gentle & mindful yoga to provide relaxation & recreation

Inclusion Ireland will write a pre-budget report to our Government in our advocacy for people with Intellectual disability. What would you like them to know? People with disability, family members of people with disability, people who work in services for people with disability, and others from the community are welcome to attend.

What would you consider the most important issues for people in our Government to spend money on in 2019?

Senior Citizens Outing

The Four Seasons Gardening Club

The Buds & Blossoms Garden Festival takes place on Sunday the 10th of June in Spink Community Grounds Abbeyleix, Co Laois from 12-6pm. Guest Speakers on the day will be Dermot O’Neill, Bob Brown and Paul Smyth, nursery and gardening experts. Lots of fun for all the family. Irish Cancer Society

Church Gate Collection which was held on the 26 th and 27 th of May raiseda €832.50. Sincere thanks to all who donated so generously and to all the collectors.

Outreach Support Clinic (Paul Farrell)

Starting Wednesday 6 th June from 9.30am to 1pm. and every Wednesday thereafter. 30min time slots. This will be a confidential one to one service which support people in the community. It is a free of charge service tailored to individual needs. Call the office in St. Joseph’s Community Centre on 0579135445.

Scoil Mhuire, Tullamore

Scoil Mhuire extends an invitation to past pupils, former parents, staff and friends of the school to a walkaround of the newly extended and re-furbished school on Thursday, May 17, from 6pm - 8:30pm.

Music in Medicine Workshop

THERAPEUTIC HARP in Gerontology and Hospice care with Jayne Demakos - An information and creative workshop at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore for health care providers, families and community members

The Pattern of Durrow event returns on Saturday, June 9. Activities include:

10.00A.M First Holy Communion Mass
12.00 Noon Concelebrated Mass followed by procession to the Well and High Cross

4.30pm. Sports in Durrow GAA field:

- Races, wheelbarrow, three legged race, potato and spoon etc
- Guess the No of Sweets
- Matches
- Face Painting
- Other activities

Weather permitting for sports.

Offaly Heritage

This year Heritage Week will take place from 18-26 August 2018 and the Heritage Council is asking you to 'Share A Story, Make A Connection' as part of European Year of Cultural Heritage.

They are encouraging everyone from young people to new arrivals to Ireland to retired people to get involved and share your stories. Event registration is now open.

There is lots of support information, ideas and videos on and through the facebook page.

If you would like to discuss an idea or talk through a project do call the heritage office. We look forward to another interesting and engaging week in Offaly!


Women's Mini Marathon

Tullamore's Claire Lawlor, Rosie lowdnes, Nicola Edwards were among the many Offaly women to take part in last weekend's VHI Mini Marathon. They were running on behalf of Down Syndrome Offaly.
