Preparations are well underway in Edenderry for the annual St Patrick's Day which is expected to be bigger and better than ever this year.
Last year more than 50 floats took part representing a wide variety of clubs, businesses, sporting organisation and other organsations from Edenderry and the surrounding ares.
Record numbers lined the streets to enjoy the spectacle on the day.The committee has been working hard over the last number of months preparing for this year's event and they are hopeful that the parade will be bigger and better than last year.
The committee is encouraging all float entries to help create another uplifting day for the people of Edenderry. Application forms are available for those interested in entering a float in this year's parade.
This year there will be a live stream of the parade so that family and friends around the world will be able to view parade in the real time on the internet. The committee would also like to encourage everyone in the town and locality to do their own bit in the lead up to weekend by putting up flags or bunting, particularly the businesses in the town.
The parade will commence on March 17 at 2.30pm and the town will be inaccessible from this time. There will be detours in place. There is a detailed map available on the Edenderry Parade Facebook page.
