NOW that we have gotten used to having Presidents called Mary, the latest contender, former CEO of Special Olympics Ireland Mary Davis is on the campaign trail and she was in Edenderry last week to meet with local business women.
At a very pleasant function in Diamonds and Pearls the would-be President met with members of Edenderry Women in Business before heading to Tullamore for an informal meeting with county councillors.
“It was a very positive meeting with the business women of East Offaly,” said a spokesperson for Ms Davis. “She got a great response and she was delighted with the opportunity to meet with people in such a casual and enjoyable way.
“It was all very informal and she got a great reaction in Edenderry,” she added.
The proprietor of Diamonds and Pearls Attracta Mongey said she was pleased to have had the opportunity to welcome Ms Davis to Edenderry as she was a great admirer of her work with the Special Olympics.
