CLARA man Ronan Scully had “the experience of a lifetime” last week when he completed the Great Ethiopian Fun Race in the capital of Ethiopia. “The Great Ethiopian Run has to be the best fun race in the world. Such colour and life. So emotional,” said Ronan this week.

Ronan participated in the event to raise funds for Irish charity Self Help Africa for whom he works as Development manager. He hopes to raise €5,000 in sponsorship for the international development agency by participating in the Great Ethiopian Fun Race and people can still contribute to the fund through Ronan’s link on www.mycharity.ie

This week Ronan remains in Ethiopia visiting some of the projects and programmes run by Self Help Africa. “I just want to say thanks for all the support for Self Help Africa. Running in the race was an amazing experience.

“For over 25 years Self Help Africa has been working with rural communities in Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Togo, Uganda and Zambia. We provide technical support, knowledge, and use a wide range of cost effective and innovative technologies to assist the people we work with to achieve a future that is free from hunger and poverty.”
